Who We Are

Green Drivers Community is a group of electric vehicle drivers who have come together under the umbrella of BOTTAX KENYA WORKERS UNION which is an affiliate of the International Transport Workers Federation. It is comprised of taxi drivers with solid skills in taxi business startup strategy, leadership and management. Experienced in bilateral and multilateral negotiations in taxi business: have great understanding of financial management to ensure integrity, transparency, compliance, and prudence reporting. Adept at establishing and maintaining taxi business systems, financial systems, budgeting and budgetary tracking, managing third party agreements, and building capacity in staff and partners. The organization was founded in 2018 and was officially registered as a Community Based Organization (CBO) in 2021 with the main aim of championing for adoption of clean energy in the transport sector and minimizing pollution in Nairobi,Mombasa,Kisumu,Nakuru,Eldoret,Malindi,Kakamega,Nanyuki,
Busia,Homabay,Kisii and Narok in Kenya.

Vision

Effective and efficient electric taxi trasport system operated by socially and economically empowered drivers in a clean environment.

Mission

To promote efficient transport in a clean environment through acquisition of electric vehicles and boosting charging infrustructure networks accross the country as well as practicall involvment in environmental conservation activities.

Aim

As a community of drivers actively involved in transport sector, we strongly believe that climate change is one of the greatest challenges facing the world today and that its impact will hit hardest in the communities and markets all over the world hence the need for a just transition from fuel-driven engines to electric motor locomotives in order to adapt to more sustainable renewable clean energy in the entire transport sector leading to reduction of emissions. Available literature on climate change recommends that the world must reach a net zero carbon emission by the year 2050 to starve off the worst effects of climate change and we are aiming at making significant contributions towards realising this goal.
